움직이는 그림으로 보기 →두 사람이 헤어지는 순간을 큰 소리 없이 조용하고 아프게 보여 주고 싶을 때. 대사보다 거리와 침묵으로 감정을 전한다.
샷 1에서 식탁 양 끝에 서로 눈을 피한 채 앉은 두 사람을 한 화면에 담는다. 두 사람 사이의 빈 공간과 손대지 않은 컵 두 잔이 말보다 먼저 관계를 보여 준다.
따라 할 때: 'sit at opposite ends of a small kitchen table, not looking at each other'처럼 거리와 시선을 함께 적는다.
샷 2에서 남자의 어깨 너머로 조용히 말하며 반지를 만지작거리는 여자를 보여 준다. 상대의 어깨가 걸쳐 있어 두 사람이 아직 같은 공간에 있다는 것이 느껴진다.
따라 할 때: 'over-the-shoulder from behind the man'처럼 누구의 어깨인지 분명히 적어야 인물이 뒤바뀌지 않는다.
그녀의 말과 그의 반응을 오가며 대화를 잇는다. 두 사람을 따로 잡으니 각자의 감정에 차례로 집중하게 된다.
