Cookies and storage

CutDex uses browser storage to remember choices. Analytics and YouTube connections remain off until you allow them. Updated October 20, 2026.

Privacy choices

cutdex-consent-v1 is local storage for your analytics and YouTube choices and the time they were saved. It is not a tracking identifier. It remains until you change your choices, clear browser storage, or the site's consent format changes. If storage cannot be read or saved, optional features stay off.

Interface and scene entries

atlas-view remembers your selected list or category. atlas-lang-ok remembers dismissal of the language notice. slots:<scene key> stores text you enter in scene slots on this device. These local-storage entries remain until you reset the relevant feature or clear browser storage. They are not sent as analytics. atlas-vig is session storage used for an advertising display limit; it does not enable advertising and ends with the browser session.

Google Analytics cookies

After analytics consent, _ga and _ga_<stream identifier> can store pseudonymous browser and session information. Their configured maximum lifetime is 180 days, without automatic extension on each visit. They help measure visits and actions across sessions. Rejecting analytics prevents the Google Analytics tag from loading. Withdrawing removes these cookies within this site's cookie scope.

YouTube storage

No YouTube thumbnail or player is requested before video consent. After you allow YouTube and open a video, Google controls any storage and processing used by its embedded service. You can withdraw video consent in Cookie settings; clearing Google's existing cookies may also require your browser's site-data controls.

Changing or removing choices

Cookie settings lets you allow analytics and YouTube separately or reject both. Your browser's site-data controls can remove all local CutDex entries and cookies. Clearing them also resets saved preferences and scene entries. Browsing and copying remain available with optional features off.
