Punch-in / Digital zoom
Watch as an animation →Digitally zoom in on the same clip to mark an emphasis point or a punchline.
A key word in the dialogue, a product detail, or when you want more cuts.
Only go up to 110–120%, like crop=iw/1.15:ih/1.15,scale=1080:1920. If you need more, upscale first or generate a closer cut. Making two cuts from one clip lowers your generation cost.
Punch in on the punchline: keep the first 2 seconds as they are, then zoom the rest to 115 percent with a center crop: ffmpeg -ss 2 -i in.mp4 -vf "crop=iw/1.15:ih/1.15,scale=1080:1920" out.mp4, then join the two parts. Never go beyond 120 percent on 1080p footage or the picture turns soft.
